What Is Responsible Travel

Gone are the days when traveling responsibly meant “take only photos, leave only footprints”. Responsible travel now means traveling lightly, with a small carbon footprint, respecting people and places, while making a positive contribution where possible.

Responsible Travel Ecotourism is one of the fastest growing sectors of the tourism industry worldwide. It has spawned volunteer tourism, wildlife tourism and geographic tourism (tourism to areas of geological interest). There’s also a  interest in ‘sustainable tourism’, whereby tourism businesses that aren’t essentially nature-based, including hotels and airlines, are finding ways to operate more sustainably.

In this way, responsible travel is moving beyond the confines of ‘Eco travel’, Eco-lodges and other overtly ‘green’ offerings. Increasingly, it is about the ‘how’ as much as the ‘what’ of travel.
It’s about making choices that reduce the environmental impact of travel, while enhancing positive impacts on the people and places we visit.

In a nutshell, responsible travel is travel that is environmentally, socially, culturally and economically sustainable.

What We Do

At Vietnam Holiday Advisor, apart from our business activities, we always work under policies of government to support and involve in local community.

  •  We support and prefer to work directly with local businesses, services and individuals.
  •  Our supplies and equipment are purchased locally wherever possible.
  •  We aim to work and treat the traveler, local communities and businesses in a fair and just manner.
  •  We aim to work with partners who operate their own local initiatives.
  •  Small, family-run establishments make up a high percentage of the accommodation we use.
  •  Where it is practical but not intrusive we stay as guests of local families.
  •  We realize that every destination is someone else’s home
  •  We should leave places as we would like to find them
  •  We should ensure that communities benefit from our visit
